The potential is great that while sightseeing you will see the awe inspiring majesty of Hump Back Whales bubble feeding or Killer whales chasing schools of herring and salmon. Captain Alan usually knows where to find them. The whales feed and travel in our pristine environment year round and it is humbling to witness their sheer size and grace.
The scenic tour to Le Conte Glacier and the town of Petersburg known in these parts as "Little Norway" for lunch is another fantastic journey into the land of whales, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, river and sea otter, a large variety of water fowl, eagles, ravens and gulls, as well as the occasional Sitka Black tail Deer , or bears on the island shores.
Wrangell Island is nothing short of exquisite and unique. We are rich in history as well as wealthy in beauty. Holding the distinction of the third oldest settlement in Alaska and the only city in the 49th State that was ruled by four nations and flew under three flags. We are enormously proud of our community and will take you on a private tour of our favorite spots with waterfalls and splendor.
